Beth Uzwiak is an ethnographer, artist, and cultural activist with a deep commitment to community engagement. Past projects include research on the politics of international indigenous human rights activism, the impact of social welfare policies on women and children who have survived violence, and health disparities as they result from neoliberal policies in Belize. Recently, she was the researcher for a social practice art collaboration between the Mural Arts Program and Cohabitation Strategies in South Philadelphia. She has exhibited art in many places including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Woman Made Gallery, and Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts. She holds a PhD in cultural anthropology from Temple University.
